Orthopaedic Surgery
The orthopaedic surgery service is run by
Terry Emmerson. We accept referrals in all aspects of orthopaedic surgery including
- Complex and simple fracture fixation including internal and external fixation.
- Lameness investigation in adults and juvenilles
- Treatment of growth deformities including distraction osteogenesis.
- Joint surgery including OCD and arthrodesis.
- Cruciate surgery including extracapsular repairs and TPLO.
Soft Tissue Surgery
The Soft Tissue Surgery Service is run by
Terry Emmerson. We are able to accept referrals in all aspects of soft tissue surgery including.
- ENT surgery including BOAS, laryngeal paralysis, ear surgeries, tracheal collapse.
- Thoracic surgery including thoracic tumours, pericardectomy, chylothorax.
- Hepatic surgery including portosystemic shunts, hepatic lobectomy.
- Urogential surgery including prostatic surgery, incontinence surgery, nephrectomy, ectopic ureter surgery.
- Gastrointestinal surgery.
- Adrenalectomy.
- Reconstructive surgery including axial pattern flaps and free skin grafts.

Internal Medicine
The internal medicine service is run by
Myra Forster-van Hijfte and Kaye Gugich. We accept referrals in all aspects of internal medicine including
- Respiratory medicine including investigation of nasal discharge, cough , dyspnoea and exercise intolerance.
- Gastroenterology including investigation of chronic vomiting and diarrhoea.
- Hepatic disorders including hepatitis and portosystemic shunts.

Neurology
The neurology service is run by
Rodolfo Cappello. We accept referrals in all aspects of neurology and neurosurgery including
- Hemilaminectomy for acute and chronic thoracolumbar intervertebral disc disease.

Ophthalmology
The ophthalmology service is run by
Elaine Holt. We accept referrals in all aspects of opthalmology including
- Conjunctival disease.
- Nasolacrimal diseases.
- Eyelid diseases including ectropion, entropion and neoplasia.
- Corneal diseases including ulcerative disease, perforation and foreign bodies.
- 'Dry eye'.
- Uveitis.

- Cataracts including treatment with phacoemulsification.

Diagnostic imaging
The diagnostic imaging service is run by
Bernard Walsh. This service supports all the other disciplines. Services available include
- Abdominal and thoracic ultrasound including echocardiography.
- Contrast radiography.
- MRI and CT scanning
Dentistry
The dentistry service is run by John Robinson. We accept referrals in all aspects of dentistry including
- Difficult extractions.
- Corrective dentistry for malocclusion and retained deciduous teeth.
- Root filling.
- Feline gingivostomatitis cases.
- Dentistry in rabbits guinea pigs and chincillas
Behaviour Service
The behaviour service is run by Claire Arrowsmith. We accept referrals in all aspects of canine and feline behaviour problems including:
- agression to people
- agression to other dogs
- separation anxiety
- inappropriate toiletting
- nervousness
- training problems
Dermatology
The dermatology service is provided by
Inge Geens. We accept referrals in all aspects of dermatology including
- Atopy including intradermal skin testing.
- Endocrinopathies.
- Recurrent or unresponsive pyoderma.
- Parasitic skin disease.
- Skin neoplasia.
- Undiagnosed puritis and hair loss
Cardiology Referral Services
We are happy to see all routine and complex cardiology referrals including
- Assessment and treatment of congenital heart disease, acquired valvular heart disease and cardiomyopathies
- Assessment of asymptomatic heart murmurs
- Treatment of pericardial disease
- Investigation of exercise intolerant and collapsing patients
- Surgical management of PDA, pericardial certain cardiac tumours
- Assessment and treatment of arrhythmias including 24 hour Holter ECG monitoring
- Treatment of congestive heart failure including emergency management of acute failure
- Management of cardiac failure refractory to routine medications
- Treatment of feline aortic thromboembolism
- Examination for breed club heart testing schemes

The oncology service is run by Gerry Polton. We offer all aspects of care for patients diagnosed with or suspected of having cancer. Services include
