Annabel joins the medicine team

Annabel-2-1

We’re delighted to announce the arrival of Annabel Haines, who has joined the Internal Medicine team here at NDSR.

Annabel, who graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2016, joins us from Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists in Winchester.

She said: “I’m delighted to have joined such a strong medicine team at NDSR. It is wonderful to work with such an established team of medicine specialists, also working alongside our other specialist-led teams to provide a truly multidisciplinary approach to treatments.”

After graduating, Annabel moved to Scotland and spent a year in mixed animal practice, before heading back south to spend two years in small animal practice, and then undertaking a rotating internship at the Animal Health Trust.

Annabel joined AMVS in July 2020 to undertake a three-year residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine, accredited by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She joined NDSR following the end of her residency. She has a particular interest in haematological medicine.

She added: “It’s fabulous to be part of such a lovely team. We work very well together and support each other with medical insights and cups of tea!”

Outside of work, Annabel enjoys mountain walking and has recently taken up crochet. She lives at home with her husband and very spoilt cat Pumpkin and said she was “very much looking forward to exploring the Surrey and Sussex countryside”.

Hospital Director Gerry Polton said Annabel’s arrival at NDSR would add even more experience and expertise to what is already one of the strongest internal medicine teams across the UK.

He said: “Annabel is a valued addition to our medicine service. With her excellent knowledge and her limitless drive to look after the patients referred to her care, she fits perfectly into the North Downs team.”
