Forum overview:

Cancer can be debilitating for many reasons; one of those is due to cancer pain. This is not a single entity with a single pharmacological response pathway. Optimal pain management involves a complete assessment of the patient’s general health, their tumour and their lifestyle.

Pain management strategies of course incorporate surgical, medical and physical techniques. It is important to note that individualised pain management strategies are also complemented by sensitive adaptations of lifestyle, not only of the patients but the owners as well. This lecture will present some examples of individualised cancer pain management and will hopefully present you with models on which to base the management of cancer pain in the patients in your clinic.
