At North Downs Specialist Referrals, you can rest assured that we provide rapid case acceptance for all emergency cases in their time of need.
Our Specialist-led teams are on hand, round the clock to provide exceptional care for emergency patients with all urgent referrals being reviewed and accepted rapidly during opening hours (Monday – Friday 8.30am – 6.30pm).

During opening hours, for most patients, our dedicated client care team can arrange a rapid referral on receipt of your referral submission.
Same day emergencies are accepted through our Specialist-led team who may request a brief discussion with you to ensure smooth transition and excellence in the care of your patient. Pre-referral stabilisation and treatment plans can also be discussed with a member of our team if required.
Following an urgent or emergency referral to NDSR, we will carry out an initial consultation and develop a contextualised, bespoke care plan for the patient in collaboration with their owner.
If diagnostic tests, medical treatment, or emergency surgery is required, we will admit the patient to the appropriate ward in our state-of-the-art hospital and continue to liaise closely with the owner as the patient progresses with investigation and treatment.

Vet phone line 01883 741449 – this line is manned M-F 8:30am - 6:30pm. Outside of these times, if you have a patient who has been with us but needs to come back, please call 01883 741440. In hours, ask Reception to connect you to the team in Wards. Outside of working hours, select option 1 for wards.
For Pet Owners:
If your pet is an in-patient with us:

If your pet has returned home but remains under our care:
If you are worried about them and it is within working hours, please call 01883 741440 and ask to speak to the Wards team.
If you are worried about them and your call is outside of normal working hours, please call 01883 71440, and select option 1 for wards. This will connect you to the team in Wards who will provide support and direction.
