Ivona graduated from Brno, Czech Republic, in 2012 and spent six years in several small

animal hospitals in Slovakia, including the last three years working with a diplomate in

Veterinary Neurology. During this time she developed a passion for neurology and decided

to expand her knowledge in the UK.

In 2019, she completed a one-year rotating internship at Wear Referrals in the North East,

followed by 18 months as a discipline specific intern within the neurology service.

Ivona then completed a 3-year residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of

Edinburgh in August 2024 and became a Lecturer in Small Animal Neurology and

Neurosurgery for one year before joining the team at NDSR.
