Altin graduated with distinction from the University of Tirana in 1997 and completed an internship at the Veterinary School in Bari. In 2003, he obtained accreditation for his veterinary degree from the University of Milan and spent the following 15 years in Italy working as a general practitioner, developing a strong interest in small animal cardiology.

Alongside his clinical work, Altin has taught echocardiography on courses across Europe and regularly trained at a busy interventional cardiology unit in a human hospital in Northern Italy, deepening his skills and passion for the field. In 2020, he moved to the UK to pursue specialist training in cardiology, completing both an internship and a residency. He became a European Specialist in Veterinary Small Animal Cardiology in 2025.

Altin enjoys all areas of cardiology, with a special focus on feline heart disease, congenital heart defects, and interventional cardiology. He is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to both his patients and their families.
