Andra graduated with a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Agronomical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Bucharest, Romania in 2011.

After working in general practice, Andra undertook a doctorate in ophthalmology on uveitis in dogs and cats at the same University and moved to UK in 2013 to complete a small animal general internship in Manchester. She went on to work in general practice in South Yorkshire for a few years before completing a specialised ophthalmology internship at the Animal Health Trust, in Newmarket in 2017. At the same time, she started studying for the BSAVA postgraduate certificate in ophthalmology.

Having completed a three-year ophthalmology residency training programme and Master in Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2020 and passing her specialist board examination in 2021, Andra gained the European Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology status.

Andra joined the NDSR Ophthalmology team in August 2020 and is interested in all aspects of ophthalmology, particularly feline ophthalmology, uveitis, infectious keratitis and microsurgery. Andra is also an active member of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology Education and Residency Committee.

Outside work, Andra enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, swimming and spending time with her family and rescued cat.
