After graduating from Liverpool in 2009, Andrew spent three years in mixed practice in the Midlands and Ireland. He then spent three years in first opinion small animal practice. Andrew passed his BSAVA PGcert (Small Animal Surgery) in 2014. After completing a one-year internship followed by a three year residency at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists, he passed his ECVS exams in 2019 making him a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.

Andrew also has a keen interest in fractures; more specifically minimally invasive fracture repairs, total hip replacement and neurosurgery in particular spinal stabilisation, spinal fractures and lumbar sacral disease.

Andrew has also produced a number of publications including; elbow dysplasia, accuracy of TPLOs, feline tibial fractures, repair of ilial fractures in cats and dogs. Andrew is also currently working on the following publications: Pan carpal arthrodesis, stabilisation of spinal deformities in French bulldogs, the accuracy of patella groove replacement and the techniques for treating MPL and cruciate disease in small breed dogs.
