RVN Bsc(Hons) Grad Dip VN
I graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2008 as a qualified veterinary nurse after completing a BSc(Hons) degree in veterinary nursing. My first role was in a small animal first opinion practices, where I gained valuable experience and developed a keen interest in referral nursing. In 2014, I joined NDSR and began working as a multi-disciplinary nurse, covering all areas of the hospital. After two years I transitioned to become a static medicine/cardiology nurse, a role I still hold today.
To further my professional development, I completed the Royal Veterinary College Graduate Diploma in professional and clinical Veterinary Nursing in 2019.
In 2021 I joined the wards supervisor team, making me responsible for managing the day to day running of all the wards. This role includes overseeing patient care, ensuring that all animals are receiving the best possible treatment and care, and managing the nursing team to ensure smooth operations.
Additionally, I’m the nurse manager for training, overseeing the training and development of the student veterinary nurses, nurses undertaking the post registration programme and all qualified nurses. Working closely with the senior management team, I help develop training programmes and ensures the nurses have access to the resources and support they need to excel in their roles.
I’m passionate about helping and supporting new generation of veterinary nurses gain their qualifications and assisting qualified nurses further their nursing skills and development.
