Heather graduated from the University of Bristol in 2011. Following a period in small animal general practice, she returned to the University of Bristol to undertake a Junior Clinical Training Scholarship (rotating internship) in 2014. She stayed at the University to complete a clinical research MSc and a role as a Small Animal Orthopaedic Assistant (internship). She undertook a Senior Clinical Training Scholarship (residency) in Small Animal Surgery alongside a Masters in Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, before working as a Clinician and Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery at the University of Liverpool. She joined North Downs Specialist Referrals as a Soft Tissue Surgeon in 2023.

Heather has a keen interest in wound management and reconstruction, and oncological surgery.
