Lauren Emmett

BSc (Hons) RVN CVLM MBVNA

Head of Nursing Services

Lauren has worked in the veterinary industry since 2008, and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2012 after completing her honours degree in Veterinary Nursing at the Royal Veterinary College.

Following qualification Lauren worked as an RVN in a primary care practice, where she spent some time as a student as part of her university placements. She then went on to expand her nursing skills and work within the veterinary charity sector for over 4 years, during which time she trained Student Veterinary Nurses and progressed into a Senior Nurse role. She has also volunteered in veterinary charity work aboard over the years, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Lauren chose to pursue her career in more of a leadership direction, being given the role of Regional Head Nurse of an independent veterinary group, overseeing the nursing teams for 6 practices. She then covered a maternity leave for the role of Area Management Co-Ordinator which became permanent, taking on the responsibility for the main hospital site and the running of 3 veterinary practices, where she was for a further 4 years.

In early 2021 Lauren joined NDSR, as Head of Nursing Services returning back to a referral setting where she had originally trained, overseeing the running of the 100+ strong nursing team. Since her time at NDSR Lauren has completed a certificate in Veterinary Leadership and Management, and is currently working towards her diploma. Lauren is passionate about a continuously developing nursing team, that incorporates everyone’s strengths, and strives to offer the environment for nurses and patient care assistants to pursue a career which they enjoy and can develop as an individual. In 2021 Lauren introduced the Nursing Pathways initiative which has been an overwhelming success.
