Maria graduated from the University of Cáceres (Spain) in 2005. She started working in private practice in Spain, before later open her own veterinary practice. During this time Maria developed a special interest in cardiology. In 2012 she gained her General Practitioner Certificate in cardiology (European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies).
In April 2013 Maria moved to Italy to perform two internships. In January 2016, she started her ECVIM-CA Residency Program in cardiology. In 2019 Maria moved to the UK to spend one year in private practice working in cardiology and 3 years working as a lecture in cardiology at Liverpool University. Maria enjoys all aspects of small animal cardiology, with a particular interest in arrhythmias and interventional treatment of congenital heart diseases.
