RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology
EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Ophthalmology
Richard graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 2003. While working in general practice he developed a strong interest in ophthalmology and undertook an internship in ophthalmology at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket in 2013-14. Following this he undertook a three year specialist training programme in comparative ophthalmology at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, Royal Veterinary College, studying towards the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology diploma. Following the successful completion of his training, Richard remained at the RVC as a clinician for a further year before joining the team at NDSR in July 2018. He became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in March 2019 after passing the qualifying examinations.
Richard enjoys all aspects of veterinary ophthalmology and was lucky to train at a centre with a high cataract surgery case load, prompting a particular interest in this field. Furthermore, like all at NDSR, he strives to provide excellent patient care, client relationships, and communication with referring veterinary surgeons.
