Anna Groth


RCVS Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging
EBVS® European Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging

Anna graduated from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany in 2001. After graduation, she wrote a doctoral thesis and gained the title of doctor in 2003. She completed an internship programme at the University of Georgia in the USA and subsequently worked in private clinics in Spain and Germany.  During this time, she developed an interest in radiology and went on to complete a residency in diagnostic imaging at the Royal Veterinary College, which included extensive training in radiology, MRI, CT and ultrasound scanning. Following her residency, Anna joined North Downs Specialist Referrals as a Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2009.

In 2011, Anna attained her European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. She is also a member of the Small Animal Medicine Society (SamSoc), the International Veterinary Radiology Association (IVRA) and a society member of the American College of Veterinary Radiology. Anna is also a member and treasurer of the European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (EAVDI).

Anna has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals over the years. Through her work at the EAVDI and providing continued education (CPD) to general practitioners, she contributes to advancing radiology skills in the veterinary community.


Andrew Denning


RCVS Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging

Andrew graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1987 and obtained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary radiology in 1991. He was a partner in the New Priory Vets in Brighton from 1996 to 2017. He obtained the RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging from practice in 2009 and the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society Certificate in Small Animal Ultrasound the same year. He was recognised as a RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2012 and was re-accredited in 2018.

Andrew has been working with veterinary surgeons in the South East of England to provide referral standard ultrasound, radiography and CT for their patients since 2010.

Andrew participates in continual professional development and teaching for veterinary surgeons and veterinary students through lectures at meetings, writing and reviewing journal articles and as a guest lecturer at Surrey Vet School. He is a member of the European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society and the British College of Veterinary Specialists.


Mark Coia


EBVS® European Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging

Having graduated from The University of Glasgow Veterinary School in 2008, Mark spent 3 years working in small animal practice in Scotland, followed by 3 years working in Australia. Whilst in Australia, Mark developed a strong interest in Diagnostic Imaging and following his return to Glasgow Veterinary School in 2015, he undertook a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery, followed by six months working for the out of hours (OOH) service at the Small Animal Hospital. In 2017, Mark began his four year ECVDI Residency training which he completed in 2021.

Prior to joining NDSR, Mark completed a residency in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Glasgow’s Small Animal Hospital. He enjoys developing his skills in relation to the advanced imagining modalities of CT and MRI.
