
Diagnostic Imaging
The diagnostic imaging service produce images which help diagnose medical and surgical conditions using modalities including x-rays, ultrasound, CT and MRI.
The diagnostic imaging service provides imaging support for all the other disciplines at NDSR. Our imaging team combine experience and expertise in all of the imaging modalities with access to state-of-the-art equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions. Advanced imaging is essential for the management of the majority of referred patients, resulting in close interaction between diagnostic imaging and the other services. The imaging service also obtain minimally invasive biopsy and tissue samples using image guidance to assist in diagnosis.
We have extensive imaging facilities allowing us to offer all the major advanced imaging modalities. Facilities available onsite include
- Toshiba CT scanner
- Toshiba 1.5T MRI scanner
- Colour Doppler ultrasound
- Fluoroscopy
- Digital radiography
We also offer advice to veterinary surgeons in practice by reviewing their radiographs (Teleradiology Reporting Service) and an outpatient ultrasound service (Outpatient Imaging Service) to help them in their investigations.
